"... the Ladies Love Their Hats!"

Just as the ladies of yesteryear loved their hats, modern doll collectors love their doll pins! After much persuading by some of the members of the RiverCity Figurative Artists' Guild, I have finally tired my hand at creating some doll pins. They are inspired by illustrations from 19th century ladies magazines and represent ladies hats and headresses from various periods. The first of the series shows one of the lacy confections popular among the fashionistas of the 1830s.

"...the BIG News!!!"

Many people know of this already, but it is still a very big deal for me. As of July 17, 2010 I became an artist member of ODACA (Original Doll Artists Council of America). ODACA is an international association of doll artists who promote the highest excellence in the art of the doll. Juried admission by the Standards Committee takes approximately one year. I am extremely humbled to be an artist member of this organization.

"Industrial Revolution: A Steampunk Fantasy" is the piece I created for the second stage of the review process.
